This vintage two-light sculptural candle holder in gray glazed ceramic features a play of intertwined knots, both decorative and symbolic.
Signed “Vallauris” under the base, it is part of the tradition of ceramists from the South of France who explored the boundary between utilitarian object and artistic work throughout the 20th century.
The twisted appearance and reflections of the enamel give the piece a very contemporary sculptural presence.
