“Chesa Laria” sofa by Luigi Caccia Dominioni – Azucena, Milan, 1959
Post-war Italian designer wooden sofa signed Luigi Caccia Dominioni, produced by Azucena in 1959.
Discovered as one encounters a work of art. Taut curves, low seating, a silhouette both poised and tense. A sculptural presence, full of restraint. An elegance that doesn't need to be over the top—a discreet majesty, typical of post-war Italian design.
GENERAL CONDITION
Reupholstered in our workshop with a Lelièvre fabric, chosen for its texture and depth. The restoration was conceived as a prolonged breathing space—from the seat to the backrest, each gesture aimed to reveal the piece in a different way, with gentleness and precision, without betraying its original spirit.
STYLE AND PLACEMENT ADVICE
Imagine it in a light-filled living room, paired with an organic coffee table, a 1970s brushed steel lamp, or a warm-toned rug. This sofa calls for pieces that interact without being overbearing. A silent harmony, to be composed rather than displayed.
