Pol Chambost Vase

Throughout his life, Pol Chambost collaborated with big names and explored shapes, colors, techniques and trends in order to design new and innovative pieces. The clay allowed him to draw daring and traditional lines at the same time while creating a unique style. Born in 1906, he studied at the Ecole des Arts Appliqués then began his career following in his father's footsteps and became a funerary sculptor. A few years later, he discovered ceramics which he used first in the family marble works and then when creating his first pieces. He became passionate about this art and opened his own workshop. Subsequently, he developed his art and techniques and mass-produced his creations. He met with great success, not only in France but also in the United States. He then played a major role within the Chambre syndicale des céramistes d'art. He was also present at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs and the Salon des Arts Ménagers. He is a real source of inspiration for artists.
